President Donald Trump has social media buzzing after openly admitting, "Smart people don't like me."
Trump made the comment while speaking at a private gala at his Bedminster golf club on Saturday (September 13).
“Smart people don’t like me, you know? And they don’t like what we talk about," Trump said, garnering laughter from the crowd.
Video of Trump's remark was shared by Republican strategist Nicole Kiprilov and amplified by the account @patriottakes. Several social media users called out Trump for openly insulting his supporters.
"Maybe the truest thing he’s ever said," one X user tweeted.
"Yeah, because they understand how the world works. Trump loves the uneducated because they don’t question anything," another person wrote.
Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas), a vocal critic of Trump, also gave her take on the president's remarks, saying, I agree! Soooo does MAGA know what this means he thinks of them 😳?
